(Well, you're free to publish this, as I'm anonymous and I could use any advice or solace I could get. Also this secret is really lame, I'm afraid.) As it happens, I want nothing in life as much as to move to the UK, study English language and literature and make a living out of it. However English isn't my first language, I don't have any friends or connections there, and that dream - one of the very few I have anymore - seems overall completely overwhelming and impossible to reach. --
Dreams always seem overwhelming and out of reach but if you make positive steps towards it, the idea will become more manageable. Make a list of smaller, short-term goals, perhaps obtaining a good standard of comprehension in English is a good start, though from your question you seem honestly fine to me! Perhaps there is a college or university where you are that would allow you to have a year abroad in the UK or an exchange program, something like that. Big dreams turn into smaller goals and you will gain satisfaction from even just ticking off small boxes on your list. You could make friends via your course, friends from here, and I’m sure there are other websites and societies of people in a similar situation. Good luck!
